My work as a Ph.D candidate in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts at Ohio University explores environmental imaginaries produced by North American functional musics. I have published work in a special issue on music, politics, and the environment in Social Alternatives and written for Sounding Out! and International Association for the Study of Popular Music blogs. Presentations on this and other material have occurred at EMP Pop Conferences, IASPM, AMS chapter meetings, and Popular Culture Association conference.
